The Orville Season 1 Trailer
The Orville is a space adventure series starring Seth McFarlane as Planetary Union officer Ed Mercer. The series opens with Mercer being offered the opportunity to take command of a ship for the first time. His first decision is who should he choose as helmsman, he asks best friend Gordon who comes along with a few personal issues.
The biggest problem is the choice of First Officer, His ex-wife Kelly Grayson. Ed can’t quite understand why Kelly would want to be on the ship with him but has no choice but to accept her for the time being. The other crew members are navigator John Lamarr, young inexperienced security officer Alara Kitan, Bortus an alien who race has just one sex and Issac an artificial Life form.
The show mix’s comedy, drama and action with a sci-fi style strangely like a show called Star Trek. One could be forgiven for mistaking this as a fan fiction developed exclusively so that Seth McFarlane could play Captain James T Kirk. The show has divided critics and fans with critics generally hating it and audiences loving it. Many Star Trek fans consider it the real Star Trek as Discovery has had a difficult season to say the least.

Star Trek Discovery season 1
“Star Trek: Discovery” the Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman production for CBS All Access, starts approximately a decade prior to Captain Kirk’s five-year mission, as represented in the original “Star Trek” from the 1960s. And a century before the events of “Star Trek: Enterprise.”
The series tracks the crew of the USS Discovery as they confront new worlds and civilizations, exploring common themes and developing an incident that has been discussed about within the franchise’s universe, but never completely investigated. Starring Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham, this show has attracted much criticism from star trek fans.
Of course, it is early days, but the main cause for concern is the feeling that this is more like Star Wars than Star Trek. Massive elaborate space battles and darker more soulless plots have created difficulties for the well-established franchise.
Starring:Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman and Jason Isaacs
First episode date: September 24, 2017, Networks: CBS All Access, Writers: Alex Kurtzman, Jesse Alexander, Aron Eli Coleit

Doctor Who Season 11
Doctor has been an institution on British TV for more than 50 years. It has entertained and enlightened us, given us endless hours of fun and made household names for its many different doctors. While there have been some years where the quality and the effects have been less than convincing, it has always been a part of most sci-fi fans schedule.
The series was revived after several years of absence and Christopher Ecclestone brought the doctor back into the 21st century with his portrayal as the doctor. While many fans point to David Tennent as the most impressive portrayal to date, many actors have played a part in making Doctor Who the legend that it is.
And now Jodie Whittaker stars as the first female doctor in the latest reincarnation of Doctor Who. This has been a difficult season for her as many fans have complained about unnecessary political and social elements being pushed hard. This has been in some fan’s opinions to the detriment of the franchise.
However, you can judge for yourself.
